Deficit [AutomAte - UK]

In HARD BASS DEALERS, May 23rd 2013: Deficit.

It is a genuine pleasure for us to have the prolific Deficit as our guest. Prolific indeed, as for the last 10 years the Londoner has been as active at the front as is behind the scene.

DJ and producer, he also co-manages AutomAte, a true family of digital labels with AutomAte, AutomAte Deep and AutomAte Tech, covering a large part of the Drum N Bass spectrum.

Icing on the cake, AutomAte release a podcast every other month, with numerous talented guests, as well as promising newcomers.

The AutomAte team also launched a Drum N Bass forum that we can but recommend : Drum’n Bass Movement.

Podcast 065 – Andy Pain & Z Connection

May 15th in HARD BASS DEALERS Radio Show : Andy Pain &
Z Connection
.

St Petersburg is not only the Cultural Capital of Russia. It’s also a land of Drum N Bass, with established names like Enei, and talented newcomers like Andy Pain & Z Connection.

With a warm, colourful sound, laced with deep synths, it’s no wonder their first album got signed by the ever-excellent Interactiv imprint, owned by Russian Getz. Their second album is coming up this summer on Hustle Audio. Deep!

It doesn’t come as such a surprise then for the two members of APZC to mention influences as diverse as Amon Tobin, Burial, Om Unit or Jean-Michel Jarre

Russian schools being known for better things than teaching English, you’ll reckon the tremendous efforts the two did to do an interview with us, for this exclusive HARD BASS DEALERS Podcast!

Podcast 064 – Current Value

May 2nd, in
Hard Bass Dealers Radio Show :
Current Value.

In the world of Drum n Bass, the Berliner is probably the one who most repelled the limits of the genre with Tech Itch, one of its big references.

The amateurs of techno DnB and of amen break finely chiselled will find what they are looking for with prolific Current Value. His first releases on Position Chrome already mattered among the most technical and craziest productions in the moment. Too much maybe. What doubtless confined this technician of the sound in releases on more confidential labels, far from the ears of the “general audience”.

But time change! And Current Value goes out of the shade since its noticed contribution to the last album of Björk – Biophilia – on which he also signs 4 remixes on a series of 8 (Crystalline, Solstice, Thunderbolt and Hollow). And for the fans of the genre, also have a listen to Machine Code, the project which he leads in duet and in parallel with another Berliner Dean Rodell. Find Current Value in a new episode of HARD BASS DEALERS Radio Show!
